Removal Procedure
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
- Reposition Intake Manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
- Reposition Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement .
- Disconnect Electrical Connector (1) @ Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2)
- Remove and DISCARD Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2) @ Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (3)
NOTE:
It is not necessary to completely remove the intake manifold to gain access to the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor.
CAUTION:
Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Hose/Pipe Connection Cleaning Caution .
NOTE:
Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.
NOTE:
Some fuel may leak from the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor orifice after the sensor is removed. Dry the area around this orifice after the removal of the sensor using a lint free cloth and inspect the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor sealing surface. The surface should be free of fuel, debris, and burrs.
