Installation Procedure

  1. If necessary, clean the fuel injector bore in the cylinder head using the EN-47909  kit.
    2. Fig 1: Fuel Rail

    NOTE:

    The fuel injectors must be rebuilt when the rail is removed. Refer to Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection (LAF, LEA, or LUK) .

  2. Install the fuel rail (1) with injectors into the cylinder head evenly.
  3. Hand tighten the 2 outer fuel rail bolts to seat the injector into the injector bores.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Start and hand tighten the remaining 2 fuel rail bolts. Tighten the bolts in sequence to final torque using the following procedure:
    1. Tighten the inner fuel rail fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the outer fuel rail fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  5. Connect all 4 fuel injector electrical connections.
  6. Connect the electrical harness to the fuel rail harness connections.
  7. Install the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement .
  8. Install the NEW fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement .
  9. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
