Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the steering column lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (With BTM)Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Without BTM) .
  3. Rotate the steering wheel 180 degrees.

  5. Using a blunt-ended tool, push the spring fastener inward through the access hole (1) located on the rear of the steering wheel by pulling the tool outwards.
  6. Keeping the tool inserted, repeat the step for other opening.
  7. Keeping the upper step pull the steering wheel airbag out of the steering wheel.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  9. Remove the steering wheel airbag.
