Condition  Side Object Detection System Disabled" message on cluster DIC and system no longer functions for the reminder of that drive cycle.
This is only occurs when the vehicles are being driven in remote locations with no "targets" (Vehicle, guard rails, etc.) detected for a period of approximately 20 minutes.
Cause  System determined sensors are blocked.

CORRECTION

Reprogram side object sensor with service calibration data

CAUTION:

Do not use this service calibration to every vehicle which has "Side Detection System Disabled" message. Customer driving route must be considered first. If customers drive "no targets" (Vehicle, Guard rails etc.) area in their normal life, and experienced message pop up on cluster, TSB is only applicable to this case. Before service, dealer should explain to customer sufficiently that sensor blockage detection will be disabled due to this calibration then have them agree to use the calibration. Unnecessary re-programming service cal will lead to another customer complain.
