Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame transmission protector. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Transmission Protector Replacement .

  6. Disconnect the engine wiring harness connector (4).
  7. Remove the protective boot (1).
  8. Remove the battery positive cable fastener (2) and the battery positive cable (3).

  10. Remove the 2 generator mounting fasteners (2).
  11. Remove the generator (1) from above.
