Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery (1) into the battery tray and install the battery post hold down strap (3) to the battery positive post.

  2. Install the battery hold down retainer (1) and tighten the hold down retainer fastener (2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the battery partition tray (3).
  4. Install the battery channel (2) to the top of the battery with the retainers (1).

  5. Install the battery fuse block (3) to the battery, with the retainers (2) and tighten the battery post clamp fastener (1) to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

  6. Connect the body harness connector (1) to the battery fuse block.

  7. Install the body harness terminal (6) to the battery fuse block stud and tighten the fastener (3) to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).
  8. Install the battery positive cable (5) to the battery fuse block stud and tighten the fastener (4) to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
  9. Close the fuse block cover (2).
  10. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Install the battery cover (1).
