Removal Procedure
- Fuel Pressure Relief Relieve the fuel system pressure.
- Intake Manifold Replacement Reposition
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement Reposition
- Disconnect Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Electrical Connector
- Remove and DISCARD Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor
NOTE:
It is not necessary to completely remove the intake manifold to gain access to the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor.
CAUTION:
Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Hose/Pipe Connection Cleaning Caution .
NOTE:
Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.
NOTE:
Some fuel may leak from the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor orifice after the sensor is removed. Dry the area around this orifice after the removal of the sensor using a lint free cloth, and Inspect the fuel rail pressure sensor sealing surface. The surface should be free of fuel, debris, and burrs.
