Removal Procedure

  1. Fuel Pressure Relief  Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. NOTE:

    It is not necessary to completely remove the intake manifold to gain access to the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor.

  3. Intake Manifold Replacement Reposition
  4. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement  Reposition

    NOTE:

    Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.

  6. Disconnect Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Electrical Connector
  7. NOTE:

    Some fuel may leak from the fuel rail fuel pressure sensor orifice after the sensor is removed. Dry the area around this orifice after the removal of the sensor using a lint free cloth, and Inspect the fuel rail pressure sensor sealing surface. The surface should be free of fuel, debris, and burrs.

  8. Remove and DISCARD Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor
