Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, command the Secondary Air Injection Solenoid Valve Open and Closed with a scan tool. You should hear and feel a click from the relay and the Secondary Air Injection Solenoid Valve in response to the commands. Repeat as necessary to verify that the Air Solenoid Valve and relay are operating.
  2. Command the Secondary Air Injection Pump Relay ON and OFF with a scan tool. You should hear and feel a click from the relay and the Secondary Air Injection Pump should turn ON and OFF in response to the commands.
  3. Command the appropriate relay or component ON and OFF or Open and Closed with a scan tool while observing the control circuit status parameters. Each parameter should display OK or Not Run.
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
