Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the CRANK relay,
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the crank relay coil supply voltage circuit terminal M4 and ground.
- If, test lamp does not illuminate, test the supply voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the crank relay coil supply voltage terminal M4 and the crank relay control circuit terminal K5.
- With the transmission range selector in park or neutral, cycle the ignition between the OFF and CRANK position. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
- If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for short to ground. If the circuits test normal replace the PCM.
- If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal replace the PCM.
- If the circuits test normal replace the crank relay.
