Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil. Replace the O-ring if the O-ring is damaged.
  2. Install the CMP camshaft position sensor.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the CMP sensor bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  5. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
  6. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (3.1L) or Power Steering Pump Replacement (3.8L) in Power Steering Systems.
