Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Park Avenue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: After the IPM is replaced, recalibrate the actuators for proper travel. Turn ON the ignition for 3 minutes to recalibrate the IPM and the actuators for proper travel.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the IPM.
  2. Install the IPM (1) into the retainer on the bracket (2).

  3. Close the instrument panel compartment.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE (TOP POST) in Engine Electrical.
