DTC B2734: Coded Key Controller Memory Failure: Testing

  1. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has not been performed, see THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under instrument panel, near steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If DTC retrieved is a current DTC, go to next step. If DTC retrieved is not a current DTC, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  3. NOTE: If theft deterrent system programming procedure is performed, all keys not learned will be erased and will not be recognized. Perform adding keys procedure on all keys. See ADDING KEYS  under PROGRAMMING.
  4. Replace theft deterrent control module. Program theft deterrent control module. See THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING. Go to next step.
  5. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle. If DTC does not reset, system is okay. If DTC resets, go to step  2 .
