Test Q - Anti-Lock Indicator On Fault

  1. Perform ABS/TCS functional check before proceeding. See Figure . Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM electrical connector. Connect Pinout Box (J-38716).
  2. Measure resistance between pinout box pin No. 1 and DLC terminal No. 4. See Figure and Figure . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check for open in circuit No. 251 (Black/White wire).
  3. Measure resistance between pinout box pin No. 19 and DLC terminal No. 4. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check for open in circuit No. 803 (Black/White wire).
  4. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 8 and 26. Resistance should be less than 3 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check circuits No. 849 (Pink wire) and 853 (Light Blue/Black wire). Check for open PMV fluid level switch. If switch is open, check switch connector for proper terminal contact. If contact is okay, replace PMV assembly reservoir.
  5. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between pinout box pins No. 19 and 53. Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is not present, check circuit No. 641 (Brown wire) and fuse No. 5B in instrument panel fuse block.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS main relay. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between pinout box pins No. 19 and 52. Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is not present, check and repair short to ground in circuit No. 852 (White wire).
  7. If all measurements are as specified, check EBCM/EBTCM connector terminals for poor contact. If EBCM/EBTCM connector terminals are okay, replace EBCM/EBTCM. After all repairs are complete, clear codes, and repeat ABS/TCS functional check. See Figure .
