SECURITY Indicator Light Does Not Turn On

  1. If engine does not crank, check power and ground to decoder module. If power and grounds are okay, replace decoder module. Repeat PASS-KEY II(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK.
  2. If engine does crank, turn ignition off. Disconnect decoder module. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between module harness connector terminal A5 (Dark Green wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, go to step 4).
  3. If battery voltage is present, connect a fused jumper wire between module harness connector terminal A5 (Dark Green wire) and ground. If SECURITY light comes on, check module connector. If connection between module and connector is okay, replace decoder module and repeat PASS-KEY II(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. If SECURITY light does not come on, repair short to voltage in Dark/Green wire. Repeat PASS-KEY II(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK.
  4. If battery voltage is not present in step 2), turn ignition off. Disconnect left information center electrical connector. Check information center SECURITY indicator bulb and electrical connections and repair as necessary.
  5. If bulb and connections are okay, turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster connector terminal A5 (Orange wire) or information center connector terminal B3 (Orange wire).
  6. On all models, check for open circuit at module connector Dark Green wire if battery voltage exists. Repeat PASS-KEY II(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. If battery voltage does not exist, check instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 11. If fuse is okay, check Orange wire for open or short to ground. Repeat PASS-KEY II(R) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK.
