ECM Override Parameters

  1. ES00

NO OVERRIDES display will not show any value in display area on ECCP, as no overrides are active at this point. This is normal resting code where no overrides will be controlled. This code can be used to stop override control without having to go back to system selections.
  2. ES01

Canister purge solenoid can be turned OFF (00) by pressing TEMP (Down) button or turned ON (99) by pressing TEMP (Up) button.
  3. ES02

A/C RELAY can be turned OFF (00) by pressing TEMP (Down) button or turned ON (99) by pressing TEMP (Up) button.
  4. ES03

IAC MOTOR display will show position IAC motor is being commanded to in percentage of travel. Vehicle must be in Park or Neutral. TEMP (Down) button will retract motor (increasing RPM) and TEMP (Up) button will extend motor.
  5. ES04

Cruise control servo switch must be on for this test to work. This manual override allows by-passing of the cruise control automatic calculation function. Cruise control position can be controlled by percentage from zero to 99 (closed throttle to WOT, respectively). This allows technician to compare requested cruise position with sensed cruise servo position (ED28). Requested cruise position and sensed cruise servo position should agree with each other within 3 percent. Since this test is not allowed with engine running, there will be only enough vacuum available to stroke servo one time. Pressing TEMP (Up) button will increase cruise percentage and pressing TEMP (Down) button will decrease cruise percentage.
  6. ES05

Cooling fan relay No.1 can be turned off (00) by pressing TEMP (Down) button or turned ON (99) by pressing TEMP (Up) button.
  7. ES06

Cooling fan relay No. 2 can be turned off (00) by pressing TEMP (Down) button or turned ON (99) by pressing TEMP (Up) button.
  8. ES07

TCC solenoid display will show commanded state of TCC solenoid (00-not engaged, 99-engaged). Pressing TEMP (Up) button will engage TCC and pressing TEMP (Down) button will disengage TCC. Vehicle must be in 3rd or 4th gear for override to operate.
  9. ES08

This override places transmission in current gear selected and remains in that gear until TEMP (Up) (upshift) or TEMP (Down) (downshift) button is depressed to change gear selection. ECM will allow 1st gear only up to 35 MPH, 2nd gear up to 50 MPH and 3rd gear up to 60 MPH.
  10. ES09

Injector control override will work only when vehicle is in Park or Neutral. When entering override, display will show "0", all injectors will be working normally. TEMP (Up) button will increment display by one, up to 6, and then return to "0". Display number indicates cylinder injector number that is being held off. Injector will continue to be held off until TEMP (Down) button is used to turn injector back on. TEMP (Down) button is used to toggle injector, on and off.
