System Selection

  1. After all trouble codes have been displayed (see DISPLAYING TROUBLE CODES  ), the self-diagnostic system can be directed to perform specific diagnostic tests. Following the trouble code display, the first system available for testing will automatically be displayed. For example: SIR? may now be present on the display.
  2. The charging system tests are part of the ECM and BCM system. To select the ECM or BCM system, the display must first be advanced until the desired system is displayed.
  3. Repeatedly depressing the FAN DOWN button on the ECC panel will cycle the system selection list. See Figure . When the desired system (BCM or ECM) is displayed on the IPC panel, discontinue cycling selection list.
  4. With the desired system displayed, depress FAN UP button on ECC panel and displayed system will be selected for testing.
NOTE: To cancel a system selection and activate a repeat of the system selection process, depress the OFF button on the ECC panel.
