Clutch Power Module

The power module provides the appropriate power and control to the compressor clutch and blower motor. It is located on the top of the evaporator assembly. The programmer sends a blower signal to the power module where it is amplified proportionally to the input voltage, then sent to the blower. The power module is transistorized, and provides variable blower speeds. A large heat sink is attached to the power module and protrudes into the evaporator air stream as a means of cooling.

The power module also receives a discrete drive signal from the ECM, which is used to engage the A/C compressor relay. The BCM controls the cycling of the clutch based upon various input signals. The BCM signals the ECM to engage and disengage the clutch on the data circuit.
