(1) Using standard strand tension gauge.
(2) On Nova, adjust new belt tension to 100-150 lbs. and used belt tension to 60-100 lbs.
(3) Tension for new serpentine belt is 160 lbs. or 100 lbs. for used belt.
(4) Cadillac DeVille and Fleetwood have engine-mounted belt tensioner designed to maintain 110 lbs. of tension.
(5) On Corvette models with serpentine belt, tension is 120-140 lbs.
