Component Replacement: Programmer: Installation

  1. Position programmer onto heater-air conditioning module.
  2. Install 3-wire electrical connector on programmer.
  3. Place control head selector lever in "DEF" position and install vacuum harness assembly.
  4. Disconnect in-car sensor and check that air mix door is in full heat position.
  5. Without disturbing door rod or output shaft position, snap door rod to programmer.
  6. Connect ATC tester (J-23678) into wiring harness and programmer. With Manual-Automatic switch in "MANUAL", rotate Manual Control knob from "MAX HEAT" to "MAX COLD" and check for full travel of the air mix door and programmer.
  7. Disconnect tester and install 3-wire connector onto programmer. Reconnect in-car sensor and battery cable.
