NOTE:
Some 1975 Oldsmobile models use the VIR-EE assembly. The VIR-EE assembly is similar in design to the VIR unit; however, it differs in the method of expansion valve equalization. The VIR-EE does not use an upper "O" ring on the expansion valve. The VIR-EE is readily identified by a red label on the receiver shell and by a gold allodine color of the valve housing. Expansion valves are not interchangeable between the two units, but service procedures are the same for both VIR assemblies.
