Control Valves: Notes
NOTE:
Buick uses two VIR assemblies for 1975. The VIR and the VIR-EE. The VIR-EE is identified by a red label on the receiver shell and by a gold allodine color of the valve housing. Expansion valves are also gold allodine in color in the VIR-EE assembly. Expansion valves are not interchangeable between the two types of VIR assemblies. Service procedures do not differ between the two types of valves; except for the fact that the VIR-EE does not use an upper "O"-ring on the expansion valve capsule.
