Important Things to Know when Programming a new G-Series vehicle 

SITUATION

If a G-Series vehicle must be programmed, what do I have to know and obey to program this vehicle successfully?

INFORMATION

1. The procedure to turn on the ignition  on a G-Series vehicle has changed in comparison to an F-Series vehicle due to a change in the terminal system. In order to turn on ignition on a G-Series vehicle, the Start/Stop button has to be pressed and released 3 times rapidly. 
2. For all vehicles equipped with BMW Touch Command tablet:
   1. After the headunit was programmed it might happen that the BMW Touch Command tablet lost its permanent connection  to the headunit. The BMW Touch Command must be reconnected manually  before the vehicle can be returned to the customer. Please refer to the Touch Command User Documentation available on TIS at section: "Technical Documentation"
   2. After the headunit was programmed an additional fault memory 0xB7F8F0 might be present. In order to clear that fault the BMW Touch Command must be updated.  Please refer to the Touch Command User Documentation available on TIS at section: "Technical Documentation"
