CID SPLIT SCREEN ALWAYS CHANGES BACK TO COMPASS DISPLAY

SITUATION
After starting the vehicle, the Control Display (CID) right side (split screen) display does not stay on the last selection made by the driver. Within 30 seconds of starting the right side of the display changes by itself to the compass view.
CAUSE
Software error (Head Unit NBT-EVO ID5) was introduced with ISTA/P V3.58.0 (16-03-502 I Level).
CORRECTION
Program vehicle with ISTA/P V3.59.0 or higher software to I Level:
- F010-16-07-501 (F06, F12, F13)
- F025-16-07-501 (F25, F26)
- S15A-16-07-501 (G12)
PROCEDURE
Follow the steps below to correct the situation:
- Connect the vehicle to ISTA. Work through test modules for any existing faults.
- Connect the vehicle to ISTA/P.
- Program and encode the complete vehicle using ISTA/P 3.59.0 or higher.
Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply (SI B 04 23 10 ).
ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software. For information on programming and coding with ISTA/P, refer to CenterNet/TIS/Technical Documentation/Diagnostics and Programming/Programming Documentation.

Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks.

If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 00 00 556 instead.
Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowances.
Work time labor operation code 61 00 006 is not considered a Main labor operation; however, it does require an individual punch time and an explanation on the repair order and in the claim comments.
Vehicle Programming and Coding
When ISTA/P automatically reprograms and codes all the vehicle control modules that currently do not have the latest software and control module failures occurred during this programming:
- Please claim these consequential repair work under the defect code listed in this bulletin with the applicable KSD2 labor operations.

Control module failures that occur prior to programming and/or additional work is performed as a result of performing the ISTA diagnostics and related test plans:
- When covered under an applicable limited warranty, claim these repairs using the applicable defect code and labor operations in KSD2.
