Functional description

If the engine compartment lid is closed, then the contact in the engine compartment lid contact switch is open. If the engine compartment lid is opened, the state of the engine compartment lid contact switch changes (contact closed). The engine compartment lid contact switch is connected to the front electronic module. The status of the engine compartment lid contact switch is evaluated by the front electronic module. The front electronic module sends the status report as message on the K-CAN to the ultrasonic interior movement detector.

A engine compartment lid contact switch, which was not connected, is evaluated by the front electronic module as closed. When the engine compartment lid is closed, the front electronic module receives a low signal.
