New Special Tools

SITUATION

Distribution of the following tools will be through the Automatic Tool Shipment Program. Additional tools may be purchased through your PDC.

Grill Removal Tool P/N 90 88 6 009 300

Used to release the dash board air vent grills on all E38 & E39 models. The use of these removal tools will protect the dash board from damage. Refer to Repair Manual Sections: 64 22 135, 64 22 136, 64 22 161.

Fuel Pressure Adapter Hose P/N 90 88 6 135 270

Used in conjunction with the DIS 25 Bar Pressure sensor test cable to test the fuel inlet pressure on M62 engines. With the release of this adapter it is no longer necessary to cut the fuel hose in order to test fuel pressure.

NOTE: The final pressure reading from the DIS is Absolute pressure! Subtract 1 bar to obtain the relative pressure. The DIS pressure test is located in the "Multimeter" section under "Pressure Bar".

Engine Hoisting Frame P/N 90 88 6 110 070

Used to Remove and Install M42 and M44 engines. The new frame has been downsized to avoid damage to engine compartment components. Refer to Repair Manual Section 11 00 050.

Used to seal off the quick disconnect fuel lines (M62) during engine removal and replacement. Use of these tools protects the fuel lines from damage.

Used to clamp the Torque Converter in place during Removal & Replacement. Refer to Repair Manual Sections: 24 00 025, 24 00 026, 24 00 027 The following drawings illustrate the clamping location for labeled transmissions. Fig 13 is for the A5S 440Z (5HP24) transmission.
