5.2 Driver Assistance Systems Front Camera, Removing and Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Clip release lever number 4 from the Scraper Set - VAS6845-
- Cleaning Solution - D 009 401 04-
Removing
- Unclip the cover -1- with the clip release lever in direction of -arrows A, B, C- by carefully inserting the clip release lever between the windshield and the cover.
- Repeat the procedure on the opposite side.
- Disengage the front cover and remove toward the rear.
- Free up and disconnect the connector -2-.
- Release the retainers -1 and 4- and remove the lens -3- forward from the mount in direction of -arrow-.
- Push the clip -5- toward the vehicle interior -arrow- and guide the support -6- for the driver assistance systems front camera -1- downward and out the mount -7-.
- Remove the driver assistance systems front camera to the right from the retaining plate mount -2-.
- Disconnect the connector -3- and antenna wire -4-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
- The camera field of vision on the inside of the windshield must not be fogged up or dirty.
- Clean the viewing window on the windshield with Cleaning Solution - D 009 401 04-.
- The clip -1- must be replaced each time the front camera is removed. Remove the clip in the direction of -arrow- from the mount -2- to do so.
- Insert the guide -3- for the driver assistance systems front camera -1- into the right mount -2- and place the support -4- on the clip -5-.
- Insert the support between the clip and the mount, and then push the support downward until it clicks into place.
- The support -4- must rest against the mount -6- -arrow-.
- Calibrate the driver assistance systems front camera. Refer to 5.1 DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS FRONT CAMERA, CALIBRATING Suspension, Wheels, Steering; Rep. Gr. 44; Driver Assistance Systems Front Camera; Driver Assistance Systems Front Camera, Calibrating.
