Torque Wrench 1332 Insert - Ring Wrench - 16mm :VAG1332/14
Scissor Lift Table - Audi Set :VAS6131/10
Scissor Lift Table - A8 Set - Adapter :VAS6131/11-1 from Scissor Lift Table - A8 Set :VAS6131/11
Articulated Joint Support :VAS6131/13-7 from the Scissor Lift Table - Q7 Set :VAS6131/13
Hose Clip Pliers :VAS6362
Wrench - 21mm :T40263
Adapter :T40314

Procedure

Engine/transmission assembly removed and placed on the :VAS6131B .

Vehicles without high-voltage system:

-- Remove the ribbed belt tensioner for the A/C compressor. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the starter generator. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING . The subframe remains in the installed position.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove the ATF cooler. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Remove the left transmission mount. Refer to LEFT TRANSMISSION MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the lower cover -1- from the transmission in direction of -arrow-.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the engine by the timing mechanism skipping.

- Only let the engine turn in the direction of engine rotation.

-- To loosen the bolts for the torque converter, counterhold the crankshaft using the :T40263 and :T40314 on the vibration damper.

-- Remove the six bolts -arrow- for the torque converter on the drive plate -1-. Turn the crankshaft an additional 60° in the direction of engine rotation.

-- Remove the left and right bolt -1- and nuts -arrows- for the front muffler.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the coupling due to improper handling.

- Coupling must not be bent more than 10°.

- Do not load the coupling on the cable.

-- Remove the left and right bolts -arrows- and the front muffler.

-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow- and remove the coolant hose.

-- Remove the bolt -2-, loosen the hose clamp -1-, and remove the right coolant pipe -3-.

-- Set up the : VAS6131B as follows:

The remaining mounting elements remain unchanged.

-- Tighten the :VAS6131/13-7 in the tensioner threaded hole -arrow- for the A/C compressor ribbed belt.

-- Tighten the engine supports on the Scissor Lift Table to 20 Nm.

Vehicles with high-voltage system:

-- Release and remove the Electrical A/C Compressor High-Voltage Cable -P3- -item 2- from the Electrical A/C Compressor -V470- -item 3-.

-- To do so remove the connector lock -3- -arrow A-.

-- Press the release -4- in the -direction of the arrow B- and remove the connector -1- approximately 5 mm up to the next release point.

-- Press the release -5- in the -direction of the arrow D- and remove the connector from the connector mount -2- -arrow C-.

-- Free up the Electrical A/C Compressor High-Voltage Cable -P3- and secure to the transmission.

-- Set up the Scissor Lift Table : VAS6131B as follows:

The remaining mounting elements remain unchanged.

-- Place the mounting element from the left :VAS6131/10 on the transmission.

-- Place the mounting elements from the :VAS6131/10 and :VAS6131/11-1 on the right of the transmission.

-- Turn the left and right spindles upward until all the mounting pins come into contact with the mounting points.

-- Fasten the mounting element base plates to 20 Nm on the :VAS6131B .

-- Remove the bolts -2 through 11- that attach the engine to the transmission.

-- Loosen the bolt -1- for the starter using the : VAG1332/14 .

-- Loosen the clamping screws on the sides of the :VAS6131B and pull the rear table top with the transmission slightly toward the rear in direction of -arrow-.

-- Pull the transmission all the way to the rear. If necessary, lower it slightly using the front spindles.
