Camshaft Position Sensor, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Bit Torx T30: T10573

Camshaft Position Sensor -G40- /Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163- Removing (Intake Camshaft)

Camshaft Position Sensor -G40- : depending on the model, preliminary work may be required. Refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163- : remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Push the upper section of the noise insulation slightly upward as shown.

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the camshaft position sensor -1-. (Shown on Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-.)

Remove the Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300- (Exhaust Camshaft Cylinder Bank 1)

-- Remove the right high pressure pipe. Refer to REMOVE THE RIGHT HIGH PRESSURE PIPE .

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the camshaft position sensor -1-.

Camshaft Position Sensor 4 -G301- Version 1, Removing

-- Remove the Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-. Refer to Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Push the upper section of the noise insulation slightly upward as shown.

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the camshaft position sensor -1-.

Camshaft Position Sensor 4 -G301- Version 2, Removing

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the camshaft position sensor.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

Replace the O-rings after removing them.

-- Install the Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-. Refer to Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the high pressure pipe. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

There may be additional procedures depending on the model. Refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
