-- Carefully remove the engine cover from the four fasteners one after the other -arrows-. Do not jerk or pull it to one side.

-- Run the engine at idle.

NOTE:

Hose -1- for crankcase ventilation must be removed to switch off the right cylinder bank if the engine is running. The Vehicle Diagnostic Tester will indicate the right time to remove the hose. The exhaust temperature has to be the proper temperature to do this. But at the same time, the ATF temperature cannot be too high, either.

-- Remove the hose for crankcase ventilation -1- by pressing on the release buttons -A- slowly removing the hose in direction of -arrow-.

NOTE:

The Engine Control Module (ECM) will store a fault entry in the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory when the crankcase ventilation hose -1- is removed. At the end, the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester will automatically delete the fault stored in the DTC memory via the "Guided Functions" that is currently running.

-- Check the ATF level and correct if necessary. Refer to ATF Level, Checking and Correcting .
