Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Lifting Tackle: 3033
- Engine And Transmission Holder: VAS6095 with Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket : VAS6095/1-11
- Shop Crane: VAS6100
- Lift Arm Extension: VAS6101
Procedure
- Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on Scissor Lift Table: VAS6131B . Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .
- Engine secured with Scissor Lift Table - Q7 Set - Articulated Joint Support: VAS6131/13-7 .
Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping hydraulic oil.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and the hydraulic pipe.
-- Close open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set: VAS6122 .
-- Remove the bolt on the -arrow- on the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor wire bracket.
-- Remove the left and right engine mount nuts -arrow-.
Engine carrier remains in installation location.
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -2- and free it up from the engine support.
-- Attach the : VAS6101 to the : VAS6100 .
-- Engage the Lifting Tackle: 3033 on the engine lifting eyes and on the shop crane as shown in the illustration.
-- Raise engine from engine carrier.
-- If equipped, remove the nuts -arrows- and the connector bracket from the left engine support.
-- Remove the right and left bolts -arrows- and then remove the engine support.
The engine support on the left side can be seen in the illustration.
-- Secure the engine to the Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket: VAS6095/1-11 using the bracket for the generation 2 V6 TDI engine Engine And Transmission Holder: VAS6095 and tighten to 40 Nm, as illustrated.
