Engine Temperature Control Sensor -G694-, CHECKING

Function 

The Engine Temperature Control Sensor -G694- sends information about the current coolant temperature to the Engine Control Module -J623-. It uses the coolant temperature as a correction value for calculating the injection quantity.

  • PERFORM: Preliminary Check to verify the customers complaint. Refer to PRELIMINARY CHECK

-- YES:
  • GO TO: Step
-- NO:
  • Gather more Information from customer about the complaint
  • IGNITION: OFF
  • DISCONNECT: Engine Temperature Control Sensor -G694- harness connector
  • CHECK: Engine Temperature Control Sensor -G694- terminals 1 to 2 for resistance.
  • SPECIFIED VALUE: 2606 Ω (+/- 314 Ω @ approx. 20° C)
-- Was value obtained?
-- YES:
  • GO TO: Step
-- NO:
  • REPLACE: Engine Temperature Control Sensor -G694-. Refer to appropriate repair information.
  • GO TO: Step
  • REMOVE: Engine Control Module - J623-. Refer to appropriate service information.
  • CHECK: Engine Temperature Control Sensor -G694- harness connector terminals 1 to the Engine Control Module - J623- harness connector terminals T105 / 33 fro resistance.
  • CHECK: Engine Temperature Control Sensor -G694- harness connector terminals 2 to the Engine Control Module - J623- harness connector terminals T105 / 12 for resistance.
  • SPECIFIED VALUE: 0.5 Ω (± 0.3 Ω)

-- YES:
  • REPLACE Engine Control Module -J623- Refer to appropriate repair information
  • GO TO: Step
-- NO:
  • CHECK: wiring for open, high resistance, short or electrical connector for damage, corrosion, loose or broken terminals
  • REPAIR: faulty wiring or connector
  • GO TO: Step
  • Final Procedure 
  • Perform a road test to verify repair.
  • Do any DTC's return:
-- YES: -- NO:
  • Repair is complete, Generate readiness code. Refer to READINESS CODE .
  • Return vehicle to Customer
