Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31- /Intake Air Temperature Sensor -G42-, CHECKING

Function

The Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31- and Intake Air Temperature Sensor -G42- are integrated into one component. They are located in the induction pipe between the charge air cooler and the Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-. The air pressure in the intake manifold is determined from the Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31- signal. Engine Control Module -J623- needs the signal to control the boost pressure.

The Engine Control Module -J623- uses the signal of Intake Air Temperature Sensor -G42- to control the boost pressure. Because the temperature influences the density of the charge air, the signal is used by Engine Control Module -J623- as a correction value.
