A/C Compressor Drive Plate, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 8-CYLINDER FSI/TFSI ENGINE .

-- Remove the drive plate with the overload protection. Refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the drive plate -C- by turning it with a commercially available band wrench (with webbed band) in direction of -arrow D- while counterholding the compressor shaft -A- with the counterholder -B-.

NOTE:

Depending on the version of the A/C compressor (the A/C compressor shafts are different), use a wrench or, for example, the Extension with Counter Holder 2:T10001/10  from the Shock Absorber Set:T10001  or Counterhold - Shock Absorber:3079  to counterhold.
