Selector Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Tightening specifications, refer to OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM .
Lubricate the ball socket on the selector lever cable with Polycarbamide Grease G 052 142 A2 before installing.
Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
-- Adjust the selector lever cable, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .
-- Install the heat shield, refer to OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .
-- Install tunnel crossmember, refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT .
-- Check the selector mechanism, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .
-- Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
-- Install the driveshaft, refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the subframe crossbrace, refer to INSTALLING .
-- Install the power steering hydraulic line, refer to POWER STEERING PUMP, HYDRAULIC LINES AND RESERVOIR, Vehicles with 6-Cylinder FSI Engine .
-- Install the noise insulation, refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Install the front ashtray, refer to FRONT ASHTRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
