Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 , Replacing

NOTE:

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 is a component of the mechatronic unit in the transmission and cannot be replaced separately.
To achieve optimal anti-theft protection for the vehicle, an anti-theft immobilizer was installed. The anti-theft immobilizer is a system for enabling/locking the Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217.
To perform adaptation of the anti-theft immobilizer.

Work procedure

Check the identification of the previous Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 as follows:

Connect the scan tool.
Switch the ignition on.
Select "Diagnostic mode 9: Vehicle information."
Select the "Test-ID 04: Calibration identification".

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 identification will be displayed, e.g.: 09G27750 L 0301
End diagnosis and switch the ignition off.
Replace the Mechatronic unit in the transmission: → 38 GEARS, CONTROL .
Check the identification of the new Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 to ensure it matches the old Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217.

Code the Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217.
Generate a readiness code. Refer to → Readiness Code .
