Readiness code
The readiness code appears as an 8-digit display on measured value block 086, display zone 1. Each of the 8 digits is allocated to a particular emission-related system.
The function of each of these systems is checked by the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) and the relevant position for the system in the 8-digit display is changed from "1" to "0" in a test sequence which must be fully completed.
The readiness code produced after successful completion of the test sequence is then "0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0" (measured value block 086, display zone 1).
If an individual test has been completed, but is "not OK", a DTC is entered in the DTC memory. Checking Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, checking .
The readiness code is set to "1 1 1 0 0 1 0 1" if:
- The DTC memory has been erased.
- The voltage supply to the engine control module has been interrupted (e.g. the connector detached, battery disconnected).
- A new engine control module has been installed.
In this case the readiness code must be reproduced. Refer to Readiness code, generating .
