Check phase position of CMP sensor

• Connect testing and information system VAS5051. See VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM VAS5051, CONNECTING AND SELECT FUNCTIONS . Select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" in selection. Engine must be running at idling speed.

• Under -1- select diagnostic function "08 - Read measured value block".

1 - Enter display group

• Enter "093" for "display group number 093" in zone -2- and confirm entry by pressing -Q- button.

• Check indication in display fields -1- to -4-.

  Note:	If the specified values are exceeded significantly in the two CMP sensors of one cylinder bank, the connectors for the CMP sensors of that cylinder bank are interchanged. If the specified values for one CMP sensor are exceeded, check CMP sensor and camshaft adjustment. See CAMSHAFT ADJUSTMENT, CHECKING .

• Exit function "08 - Read measured value block" by pressing [left arrow] button.
