Transportation blocks for front struts, removing

On some vehicles, transportation blocks are installed in the front struts. These vehicles can be recognized by the presence of a tag on the mirror (arrow).

Release pressure on coil springs (e.g. by lifting vehicle using vehicle lift). Follow all safety precautions when lifting vehicle. See AVANT AND SEDAN, LIFTING .

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the wheels.

Pull down buffer stop -2-.
Remove blocks -1- (two blocks in each strut).
Push buffer stop -2- upward and clip into spring retainer.
