Detonation Retard Operation (CIS Digital Control)

Knock sensor is mounted at center of left side of cylinder block. A 3-wire connector (Red) transmits signals to the ECU. The knock sensor signal will retard ignition timing in 3 steps of 2.6 degrees decrement, for a total of 7.8 degrees retard. When knocking stops, ECU will advance timing in steps of 1.3 degrees increment, back to the point knocking started.
