Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to SEAT CUSHION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the Trailer Tow Electronic Bar Module (TTEBM) (1c) wire harness connectors (2a).
  4. Remove the fastener (1a) from the TTEBM mounting bracket and remove the TTEBM from the mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the fasteners (1b) from the TTEBM mounting bracket and remove the bracket.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Position theTrailer Tow Electronic Bar Module (TTEBM) mounting bracket in the vehicle, install the fasteners (1b) and tighten securely.
  2. Install the TTEBM in the mounting bracket and install and securely tighten the fastener (1a).
  3. Connect the TTEBM wire harness connector (2a).
  4. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to SEAT CUSHION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
