Removal And Installation: Installation
- Position the Entertainment Telematics Module (ETM) (2) into the vehicle.
- Connect all the wire harness connectors (1).
- Working inside the storage compartment, install the ETM (2) on the instrument panel carrier frame.
- Install and securely tighten the two ETM bolts (1).
- Install the instrument panel storage bin. Refer to BIN, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the left silencer panel. Refer to PANEL, SILENCER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a Universal Serial Bus (USB) flash drives must be used to update the radio software. Perform any currently available service actions for ETM software updates.
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
When equipped with Apple Car Play - After installing the new ETM, the diagnostic scan tool (wiTECH 2) must be used to enable the Apple Car Play feature.
In the event the ETM is replaced, the modules listed below must be updated otherwise new vehicle issues may be induced:
- Automatic Braking System (ABS) module
- Park Assist Module (PAM)
- Amplifier (AMP)
- Body Control Module (BCM)
- Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
After the IPC is updated the updates below must be performed:
- The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will also need to be updated
- After the PCM is updated the Transmission Control Module (TCM) will require updates
- Left and Right Blind Spot System (LBSS and RBSS) modules will need to be updated
