Removal And Installation

REMOVAL

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Remove the rear storage box. Refer to BOX, STORAGE, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Working behind the right rear seat (1a), remove the power inverter module bracket to body fasteners (1b).
Position the power inverter module and remove the wire harness connector (2a) and remove from the vehicle.

If necessary, remove the power inverter module bracket to power inverter module fasteners (1a), and separate the bracket (1b) from the module (1c).

INSTALLATION

Check that the power inverter module is not damaged.

If removed, position the power inverter module bracket (1a) on the power inverter module (1b) and install the power inverter module to power inverter module bracket fasteners (1c) and tighten securely.

Position the power inverter module and connect the power inverter module (1b) wire harness connector (1a).
Install the power inverter module bracket (1b) to body fasteners (2a) and tighten securely.
Install the rear storage box. Refer to BOX, STORAGE, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
