Removal And Installation: Installation
- Position the PAM to the vehicle for installation.
- Install the PAM to body fasteners (2b) and securely tighten.
- Connect the wire harness connectors (1a) to the PAM.
- Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE
.NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
In the event the PAM is replaced, or if the PAM receives a software update to the current level, the modules listed below must be updated otherwise new vehicle issues may be induced:
- ABS Module
- ETM
- AMP
- BCM
- IPC
If the IPC is updated the updates below must be performed:
- PCM 2.0L or both PCMs 2.9L. After the PCM(s) are updated, the TCM may require updates.
- Left and Right Blind Spot Modules
