Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  3. Remove the screws (1a) securing the trim panel (1b) to the lower edge of the rear fascia.
  4. Carefully lower the trim panel down to access the electrical connectors. Disconnect the Hands Free Entry Power Liftgate (HFEPLG) module (2b) wire harness connector (2a).
  5. Disengage the wire harness (3a) from the retainers (3b).
  6. Remove the HFEPLG module assembly to trim panel mounting screws (4a) and remove the assembly from the vehicle.
