Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Check that the HFEPLG is not damaged.

  2. Position the HFEPLG module assembly and install the HFEPLG assembly (1a) to trim panel mounting screws (1b) and securely tighten.
  3. Engage the wire harness (2a) to the wire retainers (2b).
  4. Connect the HFEPLG module (3b) wire harness connector (3a).
  5. Position the trim panel (4a) in place against the rear fascia and install and securely tighten the screw (4b).
  6. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
  7. Connect the battery negative cable.
    NOTE:

    If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
