Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the rear belly pans. Refer to BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the heated fuel filter wire harness connector (1).

  4. Disconnect the fuel pump control module wire harness connector (1).

  5. Remove the ground lead (1b) retaining nut (1a).

  6. Remove the fuel pump control module bolt (1a) and remove the module (1b) from the vehicle.
