Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the PLGM to the rear quarter panel for installation.

  2. Install the two PLGM to body mounting bolts and securely tighten.
  3. Connect the two wire harness connectors (2a, 2b) to the PLGM (1a).
  4. Install the right rear quarter trim panel. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
    NOTE:

    If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

  6. If the PLGM has been replaced the PLGM relearn procedure must be preformed. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
