Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the left side rear cargo weatherstrip seal (1a).
3. Using a trim stick or equivalent tool, remove the fastener (2a).
4. Pull back the edge of the left side lining (3a) to expose the Park Assist Module (PAM).

5. Remove the PAM (1b) fasteners (1a).
6. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (2a) from the PAM.
7. Remove the PAM.

INSTALLATION 

1. Position the PAM to the vehicle for installation.

2. Connect the wiring harness connectors (1) to the PAM.
3. Install the PAM and install and securely tighten the fasteners (2).

4. Move the side lining (1) back to its installed position.
5. Install the fastener (2).
6. Install the rear cargo weatherstrip seal (3).
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
   NOTE:

   If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

In the event the PAM is replaced, or if the PAM receives a software update to the current level, the modules listed below must be updated otherwise new vehicle issues may be induced:

• ABS Module
• ETM
• AMP
• BCM
• IPC

If the IPC is updated the updates below must be performed:

• PCM 2.0L or both PCMs 2.9L. After the PCM(s) are updated, the TCM may require updates.
• Left and Right Blind Spot Modules
