REPAIR PROCEDURE

NOTE: The Antilock Brake System Module (ABS) may need to be reprogrammed three times to be fully updated to the latest available software.
NOTE: The 2.0L engine may require a three step flash, all other engines may only require a two step flash.
NOTE: Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process.
NOTE: If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.
NOTE: Following the first flash step it is required to perform a proxi alignment procedure before continuing to the next flash step.
  1. Reprogram the ABS module the first  time with the latest available software. Detailed instructions for flashing control modules using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application are available by selecting the application's "HELP" tab.
  2. Using wiTECH, perform a proxi alignment. This routine is available under the "Diagnostic Procedures" tab found on the home, "Vehicle View", page of wiTECH.
NOTE: The second and third flash will not illuminate the flash lightening bolt.
  3. Select the ABS again and reprogram the ABS module the second  time.
  4. Using wiTECH, restore vehicle. This routine is available under the "Control Unit Programming" in ABS Misc. Functions.
  5. Clear all DTCs that may have been set in any module due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow them to be cleared.
NOTE: Following this second flash step it is required to perform a restore vehicle procedure function.
  6. Using wiTECH, restore vehicle. This routine is available under the "Control Unit Programming" in ABS Misc. Functions.
  7. Clear all DTCs that may have been set in any module due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow them to be cleared.
  8. (This third step flash may be required to be performed on 2.0L vehicles only),  Select the ABS again and reprogram the ABS module a third  time.
  9. Clear all DTCs that may have been set in any module due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow them to be cleared.
