Removal And Installation
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to SEAT, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the wire harness connectors (1a, 1b) from the Comfort Seat Wheel Module (CSWM) (1c).
- Remove the screws (2a) securing the CSWM to the seat bottom.
- Remove the CSWM.
INSTALLATION
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.
- Inspect the CSWM and wire harness connector integrity.
- Position and secure the CSWM (1a) to the seat bottom and using screws (1b).
- Connect the wire harness connectors (2a, 2b) to the CSWM.
- Install the front seat. Refer to SEAT, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
The following procedure needs to be performed when the CSWM is replaced. Failure to perform this procedure will result in the memory system and the easy entry exit system not operating after module replacement.
- Use the diagnostic scan tool to navigate to the CSWM misc functions menu.
- Perform the "Slide Initialization" routine.
In the event the CSWM is replaced, the modules listed below must be updated otherwise new vehicle issues may be induced:
- BCM software update
- IPC software update
After the IPC is updated the update below must be performed:
- If 2.0L equipped, the PCM will also need to be updated
- If 2.9L equipped, both PCMs will also need to be updated
- After the PCM or PCMs are updated the TCM will require updates
